This is gonna sound dumb but I'm gonna ask anyway....For laser eye surgery..!

Question: during the procedure, even when your eye is numb, you can still see, right? (I keep picturing being strapped down on a seat, having to stare at this big scary scalpul thing getting closer and closer to me....) Also, if your eyes tend to blink a lot, could that be a problem during the procedure? (sorry... lots of question's...but I'm nervous... :o)

they dont put scalpal to your eye and you are not strapped down. most places will give you a valume before the procedure, and they usally use propairicane which numbs the eye. when they get that close to your eye you dont really actually know they are touching your eye when they are. and lazers are really fast. it might not feel that comfortable laying there with people standing around you (nurses). 10 min your in and out before you think about it. i have assisted in alot of these and have never seen anyone have any difficulties with the procedure. the numbing drops slow your blinking already plus they use lid spec to hold the open. they dont hurt.

Your concerns are completely normal. But it's so common in people that the procedure is designed to prevent those things from happening. It's a popular surgery. They're not going to poke your eye out or something.

you can see, all you have to do is stare at a light. They will clamp your eye open witch is a little uncomfortable, but not painful. It is all over in 10-15 min. they should also give you a little valium first....will help ease your nerves. for now, don't worry, no blinking, no blindness, no pain.

no, you don't see. it's all black, babe.
The noise and the smell will creep you up, tho...
Don't worry about the blink, because... better not tell you this...
I did it, I'm alive and well.
Go girl, go!
;o)

You can't really see anything after they lift your eye flap except some colored lights. You can't blink because there is a thing holding your eyelids open and out of the way. All you have to do at that point is focus on the light and try not to move your eye. It goes really really fast! If you do slightly move your eye, the laser has tracking and your surgery will still be fine.

Take Motrin before you go in so you will have less discomfort after the procedure. I am sure you will be very happy with your surgery!

there is no scaple u do know that right it is faily quick and painless!
