Cost of eye glasses?!

Question: I've got an eye doctors appointment tomorrow and am afraid that i'm going to need to get glasses. I'm pretty sure I have an astigmatism. My insurance covers eye exams but not glasses or contacts so i'm trying to figure out what glasses are going to cost me. Any estimates on a cheap pair of glasses (with lenses) for a minor astigmatism? What am I looking at here? I know it depends on brand and all but what's a range to expect? Thanks!

it could really range from like $15 - $500 depending on your taste, and where you go... if you know you only have $60 to spend then only look at the glasses that cost less than that. but the lenses are what might get you becuase i have an astigmatism and my lenses are like $60.. but i also have pretty bad vision... it is all pretty indiviual. sorry not much help.

Go to Wal-Mart for glasses - glasses can run anywhere from $100 - $1,000 (mine go for $700.00!) - of course, I wear no-line trifocal, gradient tint lenses (since I live in Florida I don't want to deal with a pear of sunglasses, too!), special frames, etc. But when I first started wearing simple one-vision glasses, they weren't all that expensive.

They have a plan that i signed up with online about 3 years ago...that includes vision. I save about %60 on all of my glasses/sun glasses/contacts. Designer frames. I have saved alot of money in past years. I believe you would too.
Hope this helps.

The best thing to do is to go into a store and look around. When you find a pair you like, note the Brand and model number, then look for them on eBay. Use the search word "eyeglasses" rather "glasses". I have bought about 16 frames off ebay, some as cheap as $1.00. it all depends on what you like. Then take them in as normal for the lens to be fitted. You will save a fortune.
