About contacts-?!
Question: i am 13 and i am getting contacts-my optomotrist says that i should only wear them a few days per week-because your eye needs oxygen and that if you wear them ALL the time-when ur older, you will never be able to wear them again because of like a bubble or something--
what do you think? tell me what you know plz...

just like me!:D i am getting contacts this friday, and im 13 yrs old too!!
my eye doctor told me that there was a boy whho allllwwwaaayyyysssss wore ccontacts when he was smaller-and now hes 17 and he cant wear them attt all like you said-something in his eye like a bubble??

okay well i have contacts and i wear them everyday but i dont wear them all day. sometimes i do but it does get dry. that dosnt matter. well it does depend on what kind you wear
At first, wear them only about 4 hours a day.
as you get use to them. wear them as long as needed.
take them out at night about 2 hours before sleep..
Your doctor seems like he is trying to scare you..
When you get older, you may need reading glasses, but thats when you are in your 40's usually.. Don't worry, just make sure you have a day of rest for your eyes every once in a while..

well i had contacts when i was only 10 years old. I used contact solution alot and now my eyes are used to it and i dont put very much in my eyes now
i wera contacts too, and my doctor told me the same thing.
what i do i only wear them at school were i really need them, then i take them off at home and i only wear them to places were i'm certain that i will need them. i also have a spare pair of real glasses that i use when i just dont feel like using contacts.
using them all day will only make the white part of your eyeball really really a light yellow color but it can always be fixed with some eye drops.

At 13 it really is a good thing not to start wearing them 12 - 14 hours a day every day.
Your Doc just wants to make sure you give your corneas lots of breaks from the contacts...and that can only be a good thing.
Most teens end up overwearing them until a problem happens...I see it often.
Listen to your Doc...he is just worried and caring about your future eye health.
I tell my young patients to wear them for school, then take them off soon after they get home after school....like right after dinner.
Then they can be worn on Saturdays if you have sports or an outing with friends.
Then wear glasses on Sundays again, unless there is a special occaission for a few hours, then take the contacts off again.
Those who follow those rules never have problems.
My vision is really bad. -8 in my right and -6 in my other. i wear them all day.. my contacts are called proclear. they dont get dry at all. so i suggest get them
ok i wear them all day, and mostly from 6 am, to 3 pm...
but i dont know see how they feel. and then its your choice
