I'm young and I think I might have retinal detatchment?!

Question: I'm young and I think I might have retinal detatchment!?
Okay well, I am only 15 years old and I have very bad eyesight!. I have myopia which means I can't see anything far!. I think I am about 700 degrees!. I'm scared I might have retinal detatchment because I've been seeing floaters in my eyes!. I've seen them before but lately, they've become more noticeable!.

A week ago, I wore my contacts for way too long, about 12 hours and one side of my left eye was really red, it was better the next morning but I found after that, my eyes would feel really sore, tired and heavy so I decided not to put them on!.

Now, after a few days, my eyes are super red and veiny in the morning!. I see floaters and I know that another symptom of retinal detatchment is seeing flashes of light but I'm not sure if do!. What exactly do they mean by seeing flashes of light!? My eyes lately feel really heavy and I see floaters a lot!. Will I go blind!? I know I seem overeactive but please, someone help me! I'm only 15! I don't wanna lose my sight!.

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hate to scare you but, if it is retinal detachment, you best get it treated quickly!. It only takes days to lose sight!. Since I'm a candidate, I monitor it closely!. Flashes is one sign but that could have many causes!. Quoting someone else,"Be alert for new flashing lights, floaters or a dark curtain in the periphery of your eye!." If you get the dark curtain, that is very serious!. It requires an Opthalmologist and surgery!. Your contacts and irritation from solution, seem to be the likely causes of redness!. Another cause of redness is infection, which can be usually treated with drops!. Again see an opthalmologist!. Floaters are normal but a sudden great increase in them is not!. If they are green, then you could have retinal bleeding (as I did - "been there") Retinal laser treatment can fix some bleeding and sometimes retinal detachment!. I'm simply describing either what I witnessed or what my opthalmologists have told me!.

When you are extremely nearsighted, the eyeball is unusually long, like a stretched balloon!. As a result it is thinner than usual in areas and that thinness results in increased chance of breaking resulting in bleeding!. Contacts may also add pressure causing the thin liner to bleed!. That thinness also makes it more likely for the retinal layer to break away, known as retinal detachment!.When it detaches, the part that detaches separates from its blood supply and without blood supply, it dies, and blindness results!. Thus, it is critically important that it be treated immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My recommendation is tell your parents and get to the eye doctor!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
