Eye test prescription query??!!?!
Question: Eye test prescription query!?!?!!!?
Every year my eye prescription has got stronger, i went to the opticians today and cant quite believe how different my prescription is!.!. I go to specsavers and i am 27!.!.

I have been getting headaches and blurred vision when i concentrate on things, but when i was shown both prescriptions it didnt really seem a massive difference, just a bit sharper!.!. Is this prescription change a bit strange!? All comments appreciated, thanxWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ok!. You have two different forms of Rx here!. One is in PLUS cylinder and the other is in MINUS cylinder!. Lets see what happens if they are both in the same form!.!.!.!.

When written in the same form you can compare better and see the difference!. (It is difficult to explain!.!.!.!.but most MD's write in PLUS Cyl and most OD's write in MINUS Cyl!.!.!.So I take it your first one was from the ophthalmologist!.!.!.)
It looks like your far sightedness is pretty stable and changed some, but your big change is mostly in your astigmatism!.!.!.!.your Cylinder got higher so your astigmatism got a bit worse and shifted axis a bit on both eyes!. all in all you did not change all that much!. Some people would see a big difference, some people would not!. But you really have to compare apples to apples, so transposing one so that they are written in the same form makes all the difference!.

go to a different optician and get another test, dont take chances, i got prisims on mine and the suggestion that my son needed glasses, at another firm I was told the prisims were totally unnecessary and too strong, the other firm also picked up an unusual condition in my sons eyes and he now goes to the university optician and is treated with special eye exercises as both surgery and glasses would make his condition worse!. shop around and if unsure always get another opinion!.

Im no expert, but it looks like youre short sightedness has gotten better and your astigmatism has gotten worse!. Having glasses that are too strong can cause headaches, but at 27 your eyes should have finished growing a few years ago, and in theory shouldn't change!. Maybe the optician in 07 made a mistake!? cant understand any other reason!. from -4!.25 to -3!.25 is a huge difference!. have you noticed your uncorrected vision being better!? (when your not wearing glasses)

I agree with Gnick!. Your prescription has changed very little--no more than 0!.50 D in any part of your vision (a 0!.25 D is the smallest change and 0!.50 D is one step up from that)!. The axis in each eye has also been changed a little (10 degrees each)!. Hopefully it will help out with your headaches!. If not, I would go back to the doctor and let him/her know that you're still having problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you noticed, your first Rx was written with + on the second numbers, and the 2nd Rx was written with -, so one or the other has to be converted to make a comparison!.
