Astigmatism..... what should i do? ?!
Question: Astigmatism!.!.!.!.!. what should i do!? !?
i am 15 and i have astigmatism, I've been to the eye doctor and he says i am fine, just wear my glasses and whatever!. well i do not like wearing glasses so i lost them some where i dont know!. but i also have blurred vision when seeing something far away (the doctor told me the name but i forgot!.) should i just wait untill i am old enough and get lasic eye surgery or just wear glasses and or contacts!? my astigmatism makes me see little circles almost like the texture of a football, but they are brighter than everything else!. i dont know what to do!. any advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok so, can i just say, taking vitamin a will not cure astigmatism, wearing the glasses isnt going to make ur eyes worse and your eyes dont change coz the cornea 'heals'
short sighted people 'i assume ur short sighted coz u have blurred distance vision' are very unpredictable!. if ur eyes are going to change, they will, with or without glasses!. there are contact lenses out there that cater for astigmatism, so if u dont like glasses get fitted with contacts!. i agree with the person that says that glasses are a fashion accessory, ive been in the optical industry a few years now and i have accumulated a few pairs and i get so many comments! its awesome youd love it!
when lasik is performed, its never really spot on unless youre prescription was fairly high!. i wouldnt bother unless you were atleast a -2!.00!. as i said before, if ur eyes are going to change they will! theres no stopping it, even with surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Astigmatism is only a specialised version of short or long sight!.
it is NOT an irregular cornea!. (There's a term "irregular astigmatism" to cover where it is!)
Wear glasses when you need to, don't bother when you don't!.
Your eyes will do whatever they were going to whether or not you wear or don't wear them!.
If you want the vision but not the glasses, contacts may be a possibility, but that have their own hassles, and costs!.
Lasik isn't even a possibility till at least 18, and for years later if you can't show your eyes have finished their growth-related changes

It depends on which you dislike more, wearing glasses or contacts or seeing blurred!. If you think that wearing glasses or using contacts is worse than seeing blurred, then don't wear them and put up with the blur!. Putting up with the blur means not complaining to anyone that you can't see, not asking people to read signs for you etc!. If you choose blur, choose it!.

I did not like wearing eyeglasses at 15 either, but other than contact lenses there is not much you can do about it yet!. You do not have to wear your eyeglasses all the time!. You should wear them when you need them such looking at the board in class, watching a movies, or anything that requires good distance vision!.

Glasses are a fashino accessory so I don't know why you don't like wearing them!.
If you don't like them, you can get contact lenses now - I got mine when I was 12 years old (years ago now)!. On the other hand, if you 'lost' your glasses you probably are not responsible enough to have contacts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the astigmatism comes from uneven cornea(=uneven lens), only contacts or LASIK can help!. When you do your diver licence you might have to choose one anyway!.
LASIK seems to get better and better!. Ask people, who had it done, about their experience over years, you might have to do it again (because the eyes heals -bad in this case)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds pretty annoying!. I hated wearing glasses and now wear contacts!. As I like seeing clearly I guess I'd choose to wear glasses if I couldn't wear contacts!. I don't think I'd like to put up with what you describe!. If you don't mind, don't correct your vision!. If you do - you know the answer!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Do as the doctor told you to do!. Do you want bad eyesight for the rest of your life!?!? I'm assuming the glasses he prescribed for you were only for a short time to fix the problem - surely you can put up with that for awhile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
