For non-prescription coloured contacts, does the base curve matter?!
Question: For non-prescription coloured contacts, does the base curve matter!?
I'm interested in purchasing a pair of funky non-prescription coloured contacts to wear for fun online!. I found the perfect ones- unfortunatley they only come in a base curve of 8!.6 and a diameter of 14!.5!. I don't know my base curve or diameter of my eyes, but it's the only size they come in!.!.!. I'd probably be wearing them 8 hours at a time!.!.!. and I have no time to see my eye doctor in the next few weeks!. is that an average size, or will it cause my eyes problems!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
It's an average base curve, a larger than average overall size (not uncommon on cosmetic lenses, to cover the underlying iris thoroughly)
And the idea is a "One size fits all" which isn't always true by a long shot, even when it works for most people!.
No lenses should be worn without a trial, even if you have a fair chance of getting away with it!.
Even two "identical " 8!.6!.0/14!.00 lenses can fit totally differently if they are from different manufacturers!. Those two guide numbers don't fix the fit at all!. The brand matters!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
