Could he be color blind?!

Question: Could he be color blind?
Everything that my friend sees that is light grey he thinks is white even if it's clearly gray. For example he thinks the cement floor of our school (which is light gray with dark gray patches) is the same color as the white board! And anything that is dark gray ge thinks is black. Could he be color blind?

Answers:

There are two kinds of color blindness, one is the inability to distinguish red/green, and the other is total, where the world is in shades of grey, like an old black and white movie.

Since in an old movie you can see tonal variations, I can't say for sure he is, or if he just has a bad sense of color and is color blind.

If he can tell a blue pen from a black one, or his childhood crayon pictures have the right colors, (green trees, yellow sun, blue sky) he isn't color blind

There may be other variations I'm not aware of, or he could just be pulling your leg.
Particularly if he doesn't dress in odd color combinations, color blind men are notorious for mixing up their dark socks and wearing a black and a brown or a brown and a blue.

Possibly. Have him take an online color blindness test.
Here's one.
