Does wearing glasses make your eyes worse or better in the long run?!

Question: Does wearing glasses make your eyes worse or better in the long run?
I'm just wondering whether it slows down eye sight degeneration since you will be straining your eyes less, or if it makes your eyesight worse in the end as your eyes adjust to this clearer way of seeing and degenerate further from this. Any evidence would be awesome too, but if you dont have it that's okay. Thanks! :)

Essentially it has to do with the shape of the eye and how light is brought to a focus on the retina. The eyeglass lenses either shorten or lengthen the focus of light so it hits right and you see better.

Wearing the glasses only allows you to see better when they are on and won't cause your vision to worsen. Depending on your age, most people who wear glasses at a younger age may have vision changes yearly as you grow, until around age 20 when it typically levels off.

Neither.

Wearing glasses, or not, affects how well you see right now. They do not affect what happens with your eyesight in the future.

What happens is that your eyesight changes over time, regardless of whether or not you wear your glasses, and you may need a different prescription.

Think of it this way, if wearing glasses made your eyes worse, then why would you need glasses in the first place.

You start wearing glasses when your vision is not so good anymore as it should be...
Glasses fixes this problem for you...
Wearing glasses will not have any influence on getting you eyes even worse then they already are...

Eyeglasses only correct your vision when you wear them. They will not make your uncorrected vision better or worse. I suggest wearing your eyeglasses when needed.

well if you need glasses it ok but if you don't it's bad.
