Does contact lense diameter and base curve matter?!

Question: Does contact lense diameter and base curve matter?
I mean like can it go a few sizes up or down? Because I'm a 14.2 for diameter and I want to order contacts that only come in a size 14.0. Also, the contacts are 8.6 mm base curve and I'm 8.5 mm!
Help please? Thanks!

Even another brand in the identical sizes might not fit , so just seeing the numbers mean very little.

There is no way to know without trying them on whether they will fit or not. The Base Curve and diameter are only a part of the fit.

That's why we do trial fittings before prescribing a new brand of lenses , but when you are ordering lenses online without the possibility of a trial fitting first , then it is a chance to take that they will be alright.

If they fit, great...but if they don't, you can cause some quite severe problems by wearing them anyway without even knowing that they don't fit right.

It matters as they have to fit your eye. If they don't fit properly, you won't get the benefits of the correction, and you could, in worst cases, damage your eye.

Don't every mess about with your eyes!
