will my eye sight get better?!

Question: Will my eye sight get better?
I am 15. I used to have perfect vision 20-20 vision as people sometimes refer to it. But last year i had 2 wear glasses for long distance seeing. I only used my glasses in class to read the board and sometimes when watching TV. but then today i went to my opticians they said my eye sight has gone worst and doubled so doubled worse in a year, and they said i am going to have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. But I HATE WEARING GLASSES/CONTACTS.... and my eye sight is -1.7 now.. soo is there any possibility that my eye sight will go back to normal if i keep wearing my glasses?? and if there are any ways of improving my eye sight NATURALLY.... please help..

this happens in your mid teens. There is NOTHING to be done. Ignore all exercises, quack remedies because they do not work.

wear your glasses or bump into things. Sorry, that's how it is. My prescription is a lot higher than yours.

A) Stop whining. You whine a lot for a 15 year old, I least hope you're a girl because you're whining so much.

B) No, your vision does not improve.

C) Eat carrots and stop watching so much T.V.

I'm not sure.....there's laser eye surgery, but that's not natural......

I have to wear glasses and contacts too, it sucks.

Firstly -1.7 is quite a mmild perscription but yes it is quite depressing to have your vision get worse. This is soemthing which often happens to teenagers as its to do with the eyeball being the wrong shape and it shows up as you are growing. Now sometimes as you grow it can improve but more often it gets worse. There isn't anythign you can do to influence it although there are a lot of myths out there. Wearing or not wearing your glasses/contacts won't make any difference, watching Tv/computer screens wont' make any difference, eating certain food and eye exercises won't make any difference.

With eyesight at -1.7 i can see how you hate wearing glasses/contacts because your vision isn't so bad that wearing them makes life a lot easier. On the other hand it does mean you aren't completely dependent on them. I understand and sympathize with the way you feel, although I did find contacts such an improvement when they came out I don't feel the same about contacts. When you are older it may be possible to consider surgery. You have to wait until you stop growing and your vision stabilizes . normally this is in your 20's. Also you have to think that new things may come out. When I was your age contacts had only just out and were uncommon and surgery was unheard of. Who knows what may happen during your lifetime.

don't let what the optician has said get you down - some optiicans are not very sensitive to how you feel. Lots of people feel this way, it is something you'll learn to deal with but its not easy and nasty remarks don't help. Poor eyesight isn't something which you get sympathy for for some reason. I don't know why not as other medical problems are treated with more sensitivity.
