is -1.7 eyesight really bad?!

no its not. ive known people alot worse. -1.7 not bad at all. mine r -3.25 in my left eye and -3.75 in my right

I would pay an awful lot of money to have my eyes as good as -1.7 . You can actually tell for yourself how good your eyesight is by what you can manage without glasses/lenses. Now I have problems when showering not bumping into the walls - with -1.7 i would imagine that glasses help your vision but you aren't wholly dependent on them to do the slightest thing.

I have astigmatism. One eye has worse vision than the other making it difficult to focus. Glasses correct this, as well as my -3.75 and -4.00 vision.

That's not bad at all. The average for short sightedness is -4 so you're still doing really well.

You maybe mean - 1.75 ?...there is no such measurement as 1.7
