Is it normal for eyes to sting/water a little when one first gets glasses?!

Question: Is it normal for eyes to sting/water a little when one first gets glasses?
Started wearing glasses for the first time recently and my eyes have been stinging and watering, only a little. I'm only worried because I feel I need to blink more, and this happened when I was younger, and meant I was blinking like twice a second and really hard. Don't want that back again, no way. So, is this normal? I'm guessing it'll be fine once I'm used to them? :3

Yes, this happens.

Computer monitors and Televisions will make it worse.

Experience.

Glasses shouldn't have this effect. They can make your eyes a little more light sensitive I find. When you can't see properly you tend to turn up the brightness on teh screen as it helps a bit and then when you have glasses its all too bright.

The norm,. in front of computer screens is to blink less - which is why a lot of people have problems with dry eyes in front of screens. Again the fact that you are blinking too much may mean the screen is too bright or possibly you have ti too close. Move the screen back, read with books a bit further away and turn brightness down. If it carries on have it checked out.

First time you may have some discomfort. But if it persist you may contact an optometrist. There is no rule how-many times one blinks his eyes as the rule of heartbeat or breathing. So frequent blinking is just a habit, forget it.

This is not normal. Perhaps the lenses have been wiped with a chemical that is irritating your eyes. Gently hand wash the lenses with a mild soap and dry with a lint free cloth. See if that helps.

unless you are sticking the frame in your eyes, no. The glasses don't touch your eyes. Go to the optician or a doctor.

Nope, not normal.
