It really depends on whether you are working and if so how much you are earning. Some people are entitled to what are known as "passported benefits". If you want to know exactly then you need to go down to your local citizens advice bureau as tehy will have all the rules and be able to calculate based on your income. It has to be fairly low for you to have a chance though.

There are certain eye check ups you can get every so often without paying. Now I don't think its a full eyesight test and I don't know a lot about it , but i remember having one a couple of years ago when I had some probelms with my eyes after the flu.

Yes. Unless you are on income support, you have to fill out loads of forms if you are.
