Shoud I bother wearing my glasses?!

Question: Shoud I bother wearing my glasses?
I've never worn glasses before until last year when I went to the opticians for a general eye test and they told me I should be wearing them, and prescribed me a pair glasses, I've never particular thought I actuallly need glasses, I do struggle reading small text say on the TV guide or board menu's etc, or the white board at college but i never saw it as an issue so i didnt really bother with the glasses. I didn't realise how poor my long sighted vision was until I put the glasses on one night and everything farther away suddenly became clearer, problem is I don't wear them all the time because I heard that glasses make you're eye sight weaker, and I've noticed that people who wear glasses alot look weird without them, should I wear them more?

Like many vain people you fight glasses. Put them on and leave them on. You will be astounded how much life eases for you.

Glasses don't make your eye sight weaker. The lenses do the work of focusing instead of making your eyes work so hard, so your eye sight will become much more comfortable using the glasses. This gives the illusion of 'making your vision worse' if you then go without them, because you notice how much harder you have to work to see the same thing as before. Wear them more and you should notice less fatigue with your eyes at the end of the day. And if you're worried about the way you look going without, talk to your eye doc about contact lenses.

If you wear your glasses, you will be able to see better. If your vision is going to get worse, it will, and wearing or not wearing your glasses will not make a difference.

If not wearing glasses would prevent your eyesight from getting worse, then you wouldn't have needed glasses in the first place, right?

Everyone who wears glasses do not want to wear glasses. But they are very helpful, you will get used to them, get some funky frames that will suit your face shape, and then you won't be so bothered. The opticians knows whats best, so even if you THINK you can see fine, you can't.

Wearing your glasses allows the eyes to relax and see things as they really are. You should see what you're missing. Also, there's the option of contact lenses.
