Why would someone compare their astigmatism to mine and say they didn't bel!
Question: Why would someone compare their astigmatism to mine and say they didn't believe it was as bad as I say?
I have my print enlarged to over 200 % just to try to read anything.

Obviously someone who knows nothing about it. Who are " they ", and why does it matter ?
Have you had recent eye exams ? Are you being seen by an eye Dr.?
It isn't astigmatism that is causing double vision or causing you to enlarge the print like that to be able to see it. There must be other conditions too that should be seen to , if they aren't already.

Its unclear who you mean by the "they " here. Some people are just ridiculous about sight problems - i remember going to one work training course and being told by the person running it that i would be able to see properly without glasses if I had sufficient belief I could! If you have sight issues you are always going to have some sort of silly comments. I have met people who refuse to believe I can't find the door without my glasses and think I'm just being silly - as you say its the equivalent of being accused of lying.
You need to get an eye test and see what happens there. If it doesn't show anything up then you need to go to the doctor.
Do you have any health issues like Diabetes or Thyroid problems?
