Question: Should I get my eyes checked?

Today I needed to go out and I couldn't find my sunglasses so my sister gave me her prescription sunglasses. When I put them on, stuff from about 10 metres away seemed clearer. I told my mother and she wants me to go get my eyes checked, so should I?
