I had transitions once and I absolutely loathed them. I found that they weren't dark enough at some points and didn't stop glare. They react ot UV light and so there darkness inside/driivng is unpredictable. Opticians will tell you they dont' change at all when driving /inside - I must say I didnt' find that to be the case , but i did find that they changed very unpredictably inside. Having said that i have a friend who ahs them and thinks they are wonderful. Its one of these things that you can't tell until you've had the glasses and its a very expensive risk if you don't like them.

Transitions are great (I have some) but you should get Transitions online. Even with a prescription, you can get them for just $60 at www.replacementlensexpress.com. All you do is place your order and then send in your frames. If you live in the states, they get them back to you in 3 days (made in Connecticut, so quality is high too). FYI your eye dr. has to give you your prescription if you ask for it. It's part of the price you pay when you have your exam.

if you go to the sun, they become dark like sunglasses. and when you are in the shade they become normal. i had them before and i dont really care for it.
