Can I wear contacts for fun?!

Question: Can I wear contacts for fun?
I just got contacts (like, not colored ones, medical ones) for fun. My question is, can I put them in? Like, not for a day or whatever, like a few seconds, just to feel what its like. I just am really curious and it's killing me. I have perfect vision, so I really don't need them, I just thought its like wearing medical glasses, which I wore for my Halloween costume. I wore them all day and it didn't affect my vision at all. Thank you in advance! (:

I wouldn't recommend it. Wearing prescription glasses or contacts could mess up your vision if you wear them too long. The contacts, if you haven't used them before, are pretty difficult to put in on a first try. If you have "perfect" vision and can see clearly out of prescription glasses/contacts, your vision isn't perfect. For a few seconds I guess it would be fine, but it could irritate your eyes putting them in and taking them out frequently if you are only wearing them for seconds. But, long term would mess with your "perfect" vision, and you would probably need them later on. I would just suggest no.

Glasses/contacts wearer :D

contacts aren't like glasses as they sit directly on your eye. That means that they need to be fitted or they can damage your eye. It doesn't matter if you have perfect vision adn these are for fun they can still damage your eyes. Think about shoes - if you just picked one off teh shelf what are the chances that it would rub and hurt your foot? Also if the lens is too tight it can restrict oxygen to the eye. Its illegal to supply lenses of any sort without a perscription in the UK and US so what else might this site be doing which is illegal?

the other question is - do you know how to put them in and take them out ? Normally optiicans teach people how to do this and it takes a while to get teh hang of. If you are going to use them make sure you knwo how to put them in and take them out. Plenty of answers on yahoo have this information. Contacts need to be stored in solution as well so if you don't have a case and solution you'll have to chuck them out after wearing.

If the contacts are medical ones you should not wear them unless they are prescribed for your eyes.
