A few questions about contact lenses...?!

Question: A few questions about contact lenses...?
I'm 15 years old and I've been wearing glasses for as long as I can remember. My mom told me she was going to let me get contacts if I wanted them. And of course I'd love to have them. My glasses have always made me feel self conscience, but I just have a few questions first...
1. How easily can you put contacts in and take them out? --I've heard that putting contacts in are easy, but getting them out are hell. Do you think I'll get used to it though? So eventually I won't have any trouble taking them out?
2. I am getting the one year supply. I'm pretty sure I'm getting extended wear, so on what occassions will I have to take them out?
3. Lastly, I was wondering about makeup. I always use makeup and when I put eyeliner on, I put in on the waterline. So will that mess up my contacts? If there is an accident where I get makeup on them, could they easily be cleaned?

1. Not hard at all, but it takes practice. For me it took me about a month before I could take them out without a mirror and put them in in seconds. No, I personally think getting them out are a lot easier than putting in. And you won't have any trouble the main problem with contacts lenses is that sometimes people get dry eyes or abuse them by wearing them too long.

2. You should take them out when you sleep. If you don't the contact can get stuck to your eye because of lack of air and moisture. It's also good to clean out the natural bacteria every night if you have daily contacts to lower the risk of infection.

3. Hahaha this happens to me allll the time, especially with liquid eye liner!! The first time it happened, I randomly looked in the mirror and the white part of my eye was all black looking. It doesn't hurt but wash it out immediately. Take out the contacts and wash them too. The trick I learned is to put on the eye liner and eye make up before you put in the contacts, so you have no trouble. :)

Of course, I'm only referring to soft lenses which I recommend. They're a lot more comfortable and easy to wear. Another hint: never put in your lenses over a rug or something where if you were to drop the lenses, it would easily disappear. Always do it over a counter, no matter how good you get!

Good luck!

I can get mine in and out in a few seconds. It isn't hard once you get used of it.
Take them out when you sleep, even if they are extended wear you can still get infections and dry out your eyes. If you are in very chlorinated water you may also want to take them out.
I don't wear makeup, but you should probably be careful around you contacts. You should also wear less makeup if you don't wear glasses since your eyes will be more visible.

1.When you first get contacts it will be a little hard to put them in but after a week or two it will be easy and take seconds. It isnt hard taking them out either.
2.For me i switch every two weeks for them to stay clean.
3.put the makeup on after the contacts, if some were to get on them just clean rhem with solution.

I've been wearing contacts since i was 14 and now im 17

Answer: After you have had a valid eye exam, your eye care professional will make the best recommendation for contact lenses. Your eye care professional will also give you instructions for the wearing and cleaning procedure for those lenses.

3. Lastly, I was wondering about makeup. I always use makeup and when I put eyeliner on, I put in on the waterline. So will that mess up my contacts? If there is an accident where I get makeup on them, could they easily be cleaned?

Answer: When you speak with your eye care professional, make sure you ask about makeup and how that would affect the cleaning of your contacts. Your eye care professional is the best place to start when you have questions about wearing and cleaning your contact lenses.

1. Yes, at first it will be difficult and a bit frustrating but like everything else, you will get better with practice. I take out my contacts in a few seconds. Ive been wearing contact for 4 years, i was 13 and i remember the first time it took me 6 hours to take my contacts off. lol Needless to say, the next day i was a freaking expert!
#2. You need to take out your contacts before bed, to give your eyes a break!
#3. Most types of make up are safe for contacts but i will warn you that if make up gets in your eye it will HURT lol I wear make up and whenever make up gets in the contact kinda absorbed the make up and then my eye started tearing up and the tears cleaned out my eye. It sucked. lol Just be careful and don't share ur make up. You will be just fine!
