Did i get ripped off?!


Question: Did i get ripped off?
I got contacts..1 year supply they told me insurance covered 250..and i have to lay out 140..does this sound too high?? I mean over 300 dollars for contacts?

For a year? it depends what kind of contacts you have. If they are more common and they cost around 15 a box then yes it's a lot. However, if you have a special condition or special eyes it might be accurate. Look up how much 1 box of the contacts you bought cost. It should give you some perspective.



First off, 250 + 140 = 390, so closer to $400.
It really depends what kind of lenses you're wearing. There are lenses that are $200 for a year's worth, and there are lenses that are $700 or more for a year's worth. It also depends if there are examination or fitting fees included in that total.
In our office, we usually warn people if it's going to be more than $250-300 for a year's supply before we fit those lenses, but it's more of a courtesy thing than anything else.

If you have daily lenses , then that is about right.

It would have helped to know what brand or type of lenses you are talking about. There are many types that all have different prices.
