Is it ok to leave your contacts in for a month at a time?!

Question: Is it ok to leave your contacts in for a month at a time?
I got contacts about 3 months ago and i usually sleep with them on. I know i'm supposed to take them out every night but i forget most of the time. Maybe once a month i'd take them out. Is there anything wrong with that?

Answers:

Of course there is! Just sleeping one night with your contacts is bad, your eyes need a break too! Geshh, your vision is a precious thing kid! Put a freaking post it on your forehead to remind your self to take out your contacts if that's what u need to do. Or u can use a sharpie as well, maybe by seeing ur reminder on your forehead theeeen you will remember!

I'm 17 years old and have been wearing contacts for 4 years.

Keep that up and you won't have to worry about contacts for long.

Probably sooner than later, you will develop a major problem and may not be able to even wear them anymore.

Don't your eyes have any importance to you ?

Abuse like that doesn't even make any sense. It is plain , simple stupidity.

Optician

i'd just add to what footprinz has said that I experienced the problems due to overwear. This is about your eyes not getting enough oxygen adn it shows when you do this sort of thing long term. Months of being without glasses/contacts with a wholly unstable perscription, doubt as to whether my eyesight would come back properly at all and considerable pain were the result. Just stop doing this. With me I had bad advice from an optician - you are choosing to ignore the good advice you have been given.

you do know that you are suppose to remove contact lenses after every 8 hrs. I would suggest that you follow that so that you can use contact lenses for a long time. If I were you I would not ignore my eyes so much I would want to see all my life.

Absolutely not. You could get a serious infection.

yes. they can get stuck to your eyes, and then you need surgery to have them removed

no thats rlly bad for ur eyes
