help with extended wear contact lens?!

Question: Help with extended wear contact lens?
so this always happens when i sleep with contact lens, the next day the eyes feel abit scratchy with the lens in so i rub my eye abit and the lens just slides up the eye lid once i blink each time i cant see clearly and i have to leave the lens in because I cannot go to school without contacts but I cant see clearly beacuse they keep sliding out and my eyes feel like theres sand in it. Why is this happening? I pay for extended wear for a reason.

Extended wear lenses allow more oxygen to reach your cornea. This is an important factor for lenses to be safe to sleep in. It is not the only factor. Even if your cornea is getting adequate oxygen, you may have issues with dryness, sensitivity to the material or problems with debris trapped under the lenses. It sounds like you would be a more successful contact lens wearer if you took your contacts out at night. You can take some comfort in knowing that you are wearing some of the safest lenses for daily wear.

I'm not sure if its the same as my lenses but mine require me to take them out and soak them in solution for a bit, but I usually do it over night. I have "extended wear" lenses as I use the same pair for about a month or until they begin to feel uncomfortable, but they may be different. It may help to consult your eye doctor or prescriptions box.

Personal experience

I understand that you bought extended wear contacts so that you wouldn't have to deal with that every morning anyway, maybe what you can do is leave them out every other night or every three nights, so you minimize the times you have to put them on but you are sleeping without them frequently for your eye's sake.

Dear Nic,

You should definitely contact your eye care professional and let them know your experience with your lenses. You may have to try an additional product to lubricate your lenses at certain times of the day.
