My eyesight has improved...?!


Question: My eyesight has improved...?
I went to the opticians today, my eyesight has improved so I do not need to wear glasses any more. My last eye test was 18 months ago, and I was prescribed glasses of +1.00 x -0.5 for close work. Is it odd that in 18 months my eyesight has improved that I do not need to wear them any more? I didn't particularly wear them did that affect my eyesight.
Also, if my prescription has decreased to 0, does it mean I am likely to go into minus side of prescription as that is what both my parents are, so I did always think it was odd I had a + prescription.

happens all the time. people mistakenly say "eyesight can only get worse" but its not true.

yes its possible that you may end up being myopic ( - ) later

Your prescription was plus and both your parents were minus, you were probably thinking that the babies got mixed up at the hospital! Sometimes people start out being a little farsighted when young, then they out grow it as they get older. As an adult, sometimes they wind up needing no glasses, sometimes they go on to be nearsighted. So, I can't guarantee you will never need glasses again.
