glasses cost $$$
$$$ your Mom and or DAd works hard for

DONT break your glasses-
be a little more mature and wait until your next optical appointment sometime this year

OR ask your Mom if you can buy the contacts yourself- maybe then she'll agree to pay for them
when she figures out you broke the glasses to manipulate her? she'll be more than just angry
(Moms are smart- WE can figure out a lie )

I don't think they make eyeglass lenses out of polyurethane, maybe they are polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA or CR-39) or polycarbonate? The PMMA one are pretty easy to bust, just get in a big fight where they get knocked off and stepped on. To do the the polycarbonate ones, just freeze them in liquid nitrogen then hit it with a hammer. But, what happens when they start having you appear on national talk shows to tell your story about being the only person who ever managed to bust polycarbonate lenses, and they want you to show the audience how you did it! Also, unfortunately, some of the places guarantee kid's glasses for a year, so they might just give you new ones!

Seriously, just be patient, especially because it sounds like your mother has pretty much already agreed to get you contacts. If she ever found out you busted your glasses on purpose, she would not be happy.

First off, not a good idea.
Second, I'm assuming you mean polycarbonate? They're incredibly strong. We had a lab session when I was in school where everyone in my class (80 people) took turns with a hammer trying to smash a lens. It didn't happen.
Third -- also not a good idea -- we see people fairly often who've managed to lose a lens because a screw popped out.....
