Is it safe to wear contact lenses after having my eyes diluted?!

Question: Is it safe to wear contact lenses after having my eyes diluted?
Hi

I'm sure to visit the hospital this afternoon for a routine check-up on my eyes. I suffered retinal detachments some five years ago, so have them checke every six months.

Standard procedure is to have my pupils diluted with drops so the doctor can examine the retina.

My question is, is it okay to put my contact lenses in afterwards? I wear glasses but have better eyesight wearing contact lenses.

(Don't worry. I'm not driving.)

Thanks!

Answers:

Yes, it's fine, as long as you put them in after the end of your exam. (If you put them in too soon, the medication soaks into the lenses and will dilate your pupils the next time you wear your contacts.)

I'm an optometrist.

it shouldn't be a problem because the pupil is protected by the lens which doesn't move.contact lenses sit over the lens of your eye, since it doesn't move, i will not have an effect. just make sure that none of the remnants of the eye drops are still there before you apply the contact lens.

No , It shouldn't do any harm if you're wearing the contacts AFTER your eyes are diluted , IMO they'll help your eyes stay cool for a while.

With cool I mean cold one cool , not cool , cool lol

Do you mean dilated? I would check with your doctor, but you should probably wait until your pupils are back to normal. The doctor may be able to give you some drops that helps hurry that process.

Probebly not

you should go to doctors immediately.
