Are half-rimmed glasses okay to wear with my -5.00 and -5.50 prescription?!

Question: Are half-rimmed glasses okay to wear with my -5.00 and -5.50 prescription?
I have been looking at some glasses online and I like the half-rimmed style but not sure how they would look with my high prescription. I would be getting the 1.67 index lenses. please let me know your opinion?

For your present condition buy the biggish frames which give you correct vision from allangles

I think you could wear them, but you might want to check with an optician first. Shoot your question to info@replacementlensexpress.com and see what the optician thinks. You can also ask him for a price quote and see if he can beat the other website - I think they say something on their site that they "beat all competitors" or something like that. Worth a shot! Oh and on this site you can also get ultra high index, so maybe you need 1.74 instead of 1.67?

If you don't mind the thickness showing , they will work fine.

The bigger the frame is though , the thicker they will be on the outer edges, so be careful of the size.

Even with the 1.67, the thickness that IS there will show a lot more with a semi rimless than with a full frame.
