Question: I am in the market for new extended wear contacts, I usually wear Acuvue Oasys and so far so good, but ...?
I was wondering how the Optima 38 / SP Contact Lenses or Purevision contacts are, they say that can be used for a month? Users please and opticians your opinions thanks.

The Optima 38 ISN'T an extended wear lens. They can't be slept in. They are a conventional lens with a low water content which make them a good choice very often for people with dry eye problems, but they HAVE to be removed for sleeping.

The Purevision is an extended wear lens that is approved for 30 days continuous wear. BUT , "approved" and "recommended" are two different things.

The incidence of eye problems greatly increases with those who wear lenses like that , than with those who remove them at night.

Although approved for continuous wear, most Dr's will tell you to remove them every week for a cleaning at least , if you MUST sleep with them.

The only way to know how they will feel and work for you is to get a trial pair from your optician or optometrist , depending where you are, and try them.
