What happens when you don't take your contacts out for a long time?!

Question: What happens when you don't take your contacts out for a long time?
I'm going to be honest here, I haven't taken my contacts out for about 3 months, and that was just to change them. I've gone longer with them in, but I'm going for an eye doctor visit and I'm worried. Yes, I know I'm supposed to take them out, I'm not completely dumb, but I hate the feeling of my eyes when they are out, plus I can't see anything at all; my vision is terrible! It is just so much easier for them to stay in. I really want to know what happens when they stay in this long. So far, though, I haven't had any problems at all; no redness, no itchiness, nor any blurriness.

Answers:

I used to wear contacts and I would leave them in all the time, even when I slept.
Eventually they started to get itchy and irritating so I was always rubbing my eyes and the contacts would actually come out. I had to go to the school nurse so many times because they got itchy, red, and they just hurt.
If I were you, I would definately start taking them out at least when you sleep, and change to a new pair regularly.
Hope I helped! :)
