Wearing contacts for a week, possible INFECTION?!

Question: Wearing contacts for a week, possible INFECTION?

I've been using contacts for a week now. Yesterday night when I took them off, I realized that the lower left of my left eye was RED. I put some eyedrops last night and this morning, but it still looks the same as yesterday. Every time I apply the eyedrops, it stings where it's red, but not anywhere else. Could I possibly have an infection? Do you think I accidentally cut my eye? Was I too rough when applying the contacts? Was I unsanitary when applying and removing the contacts(even though I washed my hands every time)? Should I apply my contacts tomorrow(I didn't today, just used glasses)?

You may have left them in for too long each day and the eye may be a bit irritated, maybe you were a bit rough or maybe the contacts dont fit 100%, you need to go slow with contacts and wear them gradually longer each day, or yr eyes get very sore. It is very important that you are sanitary, agree, yes, drops may help, but dont wear contacts for too long at first. I would see yr optometrist esp if you are concerned, it may not be infection, be get it checked out to be sure. I would give yr eyes a rest and not wear contacts til you get checked out, and wear glasses instead, Just to be sure.
