Floater question please help!?!
Question: Floater question please help!?
I did check twice with my doctor he dilated my eyes with drops and said nothing is wrong.
Is a normal eyedoctor able to spot things like retina detachment? Or should I be worried and check with a better/specialist?
Thanks

If the optometrist thought you were at risk for a retinal detachment, he'd probably tell you the warning signs.
Floaters increasing like that is something usually associated with the possibility of getting a retinal detachment, but there is also flashing that is an important symptom. Also, the doctor probably checked if you have a vitreous detachment.
You generally can't prevent a retinal detachment from happening, but if it does happen, you should go to an ER right away, as they can most likely get your vision back if you go quickly enough.
Having a retinal detachment has been described to me as a "big oil spill" in the vision where it's just black.
Anyway, if your doctor didn't say anything, I wouldn't be concerned.
