Sometimes, children are a little farsighted when young, and given glasses for it. As they grow older sometimes they outgrow the condition and just happen to wind up with normal vision. Since these children would at first wear glasses, and then, not need to be wearing glasses any more, it might appear that wearing glasses "cured" their eyes. I think this where the sories of "your eyes will get better from wearing glasses" come from. However, this is not the usual case for most people's vision.

Very unlikely, and I should know, because I've worn spectacles since I was twelve years old. (63 years) of Short sightedness. Couldn't see the blackboard with what the teacher was writing, and from the back row of the classroom finished up on the first row, in the lap of the teacher (a woman).

It was the teacher who advised me to see an eye optician. There is some instances of this recorded but I think its very rare. I would put no guarantee that you yourself will ever experience a reversal of your eyes becoming better than they are, or them improving to the extent of not wearing some aid.

Either someone has told you about this eyesight improving with age, or you have read it somewhere. So don't build up your hopes in this area, and try to accept the condition for what it is.

Im afraid not. Ive had contact lenses for 20 years and my eyesight has got worse as they are now lazy as the lenses do all the work.

My mother has glasses, tries to use them only when necessary and her eyesight is stable and rarely does she need a new prescription/lenses for her specs.

Not as far as i know. Your eye sight usually deteriorates with age (often around the age of 40 you will see a deterioration)
