Why does my eye twitch after taking antbiotics?!

Question: Why does my eye twitch after taking antbiotics?
I had to take antibiotics (Amoxicillin) for a week for a tooth infection. The infection has cleared up but my left eye has started to twitch (the bottom part) as well as getting a red, itchy bump under the eye. My eye in general is sore but that's because I keep rubbing it! Is this a common side effect or is it something else? Thank you in advance!

wow these ppl gave you crappy advice. it could be a stye which could be partly because the antibiotics killed good bacteria making you get a stye. or it could be not related. dont mess with it. it'll just get worse. put some water in your eye and look around to clean out any dirt or use eye drops. put some heat on it but not too hot you don't want to hurt your eye. the heat will help the thing to drain out
eat some yogurt or take some acidophilous (spelled it wrong i think). that'll also help your digestive tract which gets messed up from antibiotics. ;)
take care.

It's in your mind that's not a side affect!

Wow one hypochondriac to another! Okay folks lets look at medical facts, antibiotics taken orally have NO DOCUMENTED evidence of ever causing eye twitching. if I am wrong, show me otherwise? bad advice my butt. That side affect is all in your mind! Antibiotics can have other side affects including light sensitivity. But theere is not a single piece of evidence factual to support your two dudes claims!

Same thing happen to me. Eye twitches when taking antibiotics. It's really annoying. I just got off of them, and it seems to be getting better. My eye was twitching the most, but I was also having twitches all over my body. I was taking some strong amoxicillin so that could have done it.

antibiotics taste bad. i experience an urge to throw up everytime I take them. but thats liquid form, if u took them in pill form, you got some eye problems, maybe somebody else can give you a real awnser. actually, I take that back, you may just be allergic.

It sounds like a stye to me (basically a deep zit). Usually you just wait it out but I believe there are some meds/ointments that can clear it up quicker.
