How bad is my eyesight?!

Question: How bad is my eyesight?
Hey, I'm 15. In school, I usually sit in the middle or toward the front and I don't have a problem seeing the words on the board. However, in a few of my classes I have to sit at the second last row I find it difficult to read the board. The words look blurry to my eyes for some reason and like foggy and hard to read. So I usually end up squint because it makes the words clearer or copying a friends notes. The other day I couldn't see from the back and my friend lent me her glasses. I didn't like wear them like put them right in front of my eyes but like a few inches from my eyes and the words appeared clearer and easier to see through the lenses. It felt weird though because it looked like everything was magnified. How bad is my eyesight?? I really don't want to get glasses or contacts?. Is there anyway to improve it and will my eyesight get worse?? I have always had perfect eyesight.

You probably need glasses. I thought my eyesight was perfect when I didn't have glasses, boy was I wrong. When I got my glasses everything look so clear and magnified. Your eye won't get worse from not wearing glasses but If you want to see better you should get them or contacts or laser eye surgery.

I'm sorry to say you probably have bad eyesight, and no there's no way to improve it. You're probably best off going to the opticians to see just how bad it is, and it's free for anyone under 17, so it's a good idea. As you've only just noticed it and it's when your near the back of the room it probably means your eyesight isn't that bad, you might only need to wear glasses occasionally when near the back of the room.

Not being able to see from the back of the class and copying friends notes is the usual signs of you being short sighted. Noone wants to have to have glasses or contacts but ther is nothing you can do to improve your eyesight or stop it getting worse. Its down to the shape of your eyeball and as you grow the situation gets worse so its at your age or younger that you first start to notice you can't see properly. Normally your eyesight stablizes in your 20's.

Get you parents to get you to an opticians for a test. Glasses /contacts are something you do get used to and getting proper eyesight is worth it. don't mess up your education because you have problems seeing the board - it wont' help to have a low paying job so you can't afford good glasses , contacts or possibly laser surgery.
