Is this a rip in my contact lens, or...? [Picture]?!

Question: Is this a rip in my contact lens, or...? [Picture]?
Brand new trial contacts; only wore them for 4 hours. Next day, I noticed this on my lens...

Normal? Safe to wear?

That is strange.

In the top photo, it looks like a small tear , but in the bottom pic it looks like it is just the laser mark for a toric lens, that is supposed to be there.

Are they lenses for astigmatism ?

EDIT ****

Just the lens for astigmatism will have a mark , that lots of people mistake for a tear in the lens. The mark looks very different in the 2 photos.

The laser marking is a straight vertical mark like in the 2nd photo.

Maybe you have 2 different marks on that same lens...one is the laser mark , the other is a tear , that we see in the 1st photo.

Unless the 1st photo is just a strange angle causing a reflection , but that mark doesn't look to be vertical to the edge of the lens, it's on an angle...which wouldn't be right.

EDIT 2

Ok, so if it's vertical, like it shows in the 2nd pic, it is definitely just the laser mark...the lens is fine.

That mark is how we can check the rotation of the lens when you have it on . That is a toric lens for astigmatism.

You should run your finger over it and see what it feels like to you. from the picture it looks like a tear and i would throw it out and put in a new one.
