First of all you can't be sure you have pseudo-myopia unless your eye exam is made under the effect of a special kind of drops which paralyze the ciliary muscle.
In order to reduce the spasm of the ciliary it's necessary to avoid that which caused it, i.e. that peculiar eye-strain which is typical of near work. If you can't avoid that kind of short distance activities, you shoul at least stay as distant as possible from the book you're reading, or the computer and so on, and in addition you should use use undercorrected glasses or reading glasses, it depends on your prescription.

It would also be helpful to wear undercorrected glasses even when looking far away. In this case the undercorrection should be mild, let's say 0.50 diopter lower, while for near work it should be much more, around 2 diopters lower.
