Is my eye doctor right?!

Question: Is my eye doctor right?
I went to my eye doctor yesterday because I was seeing worse than before. He prescribed me glasses and when I asked if eating green vegetables would improve my eye sight, he said no, and "It has nothing to do with eyesight".

I also asked him if wearing glasses would improve my real vision overtime, and he said "It will either stay the same or get worse, unless you do the laser eye surgery"

I always thought that there was a certain kind of vitamin which helps eyes. Was the doctor right?

Answers:

Yep, the Dr. was right, no vitamins make any difference in improving near or far sightedness.

Green leafy vegetables and carrots are good for the body in general , but have nothing to do with the eyes. Your eyes draw all the vitamins they need to stay healthy from a normal good diet.

Eyes can be very healthy but still be near or farsighted or have astigmatism.

So...eat your veggies, but don't expect your eyes to get better from it.

i agree eating leafy green vegetables will have zero effect on your refractive state & whether or not your vision "gets worse"

i also agree that wearing glasses is not therapeutic. wearing them more or less will not affect your long term refractive state or progression of refractive state. clearer on, blurrier off. thats it.

so...yes your eye doc is right.
