Can an optician answer this question?!
Question: Can an optician answer this question?
Answers:
probably because the specs you looked through have much the same power in the right and left lenses.
The power of the lens is almost the same whether viewed from the back or from the front of the lens,
Thus turning the glasses "back to front" will make very little difference.
Eye lenses are only designed to be looked through one way only. And why would this be of interest I cannot imagine. I question the validity of your argument, and I have some knowledge of prescriptive lenses for which they are prescribed.
Some lenses are quite complicated, and not easy for the layperson to understand fully.
You know where to go for your answer, so do it. You'll be saying next that wearing your glasses or spectacles upside down is the answer, like one famous snooker did on television, (Dennis Taylor).
The whys and wherefores are not of interest to me. You could put your obvious intelligence to better use with something that is beneficial to each and everyone of us.

This is really physics although an optician obviously has a really good grasp of the physics involved here. In fact what happens depends on teh perscription - I've tried it with mine and I get double vision and blurring. What you will find is that yoru vision does not work over teh complete range it should. Look at teh physics of lenses , look at teh perscriptions you've tried this with and then look at teh complete width of your view with teh lenses.
