Eyeballs in general?!
Question:
Eyeballs in general?
I am very nearsighted... Like -8.75 nearsighted & when I look at lights w/o my glasses they look like big blobs... Sometimes tho when a light shines just right i can see my eyelashes really close and what looks like a microscopic veiw of what appear to be.... cells??? Am I in fact seeing MY OWN EYE-CELL THINGS??? My eye-doc told me that being near-sighted is like having little microscopes for eyes... Is this like a documented thing? Anyone share any similar experianes/can explain this one?
Lol or am I just crazy?
Answers:
You're seeing vitreous floaters...little clumps of cells. These are normal and nearsighted people see them more often than those with 'normal' vision.
I was -8.25 and -7.75 before my PRK...and I saw those floaters ALL the time...more so on one-color backgrounds (white wall, blue sky). Your eye doc described that very well (wish mine had described it that way).
You're not crazy at all...just one of those things that us moderate myopes see more often than mild myopes, 20/20 uncorrected people, and hyperopes.
They are benign.
