What are some of the common misconceptions of Lasik?!
Question:
What are some of the common misconceptions of Lasik?
Answers:
jasonlai73: i notice you're asking a lot of questions...
the most common misconceptions about lasik IMO:
1) that you'll "never need glasses again" (everyone needs reading glasses at about age 40)
2) that every Rx is doable in lasik
3) that every person sees "perfectly" after lasik
4) that its somehow "safer" than contacts
5) that you never have to go to the eye doctor again (still need corneal/retinal checkups, especially if you were highly nearsighted before the surgery)
6) that it fixes "everything" (from cataracts to macular degeneration, etc etc)
7) that you're no longer at risk for retinal problems associated with myopia b/c you're not nearsighted anymore (which is untrue)
