Is it normal for teenage girls to masturbate?!

Question: And if so, is it normal for them to orgasm? I'm sixteen, and I always thought that it was normal, but I've heard many people say that they hadn't done anything like that until they were almost seventeen, or they weren't able to have an orgasm. I've been able to have an orgasm since I first started (I was only twelve). Is it normal for teenage girls to masturbate? I know that with guys it is, but now that I know that many girls don't I feel weird, and sorta ashamed.

Honey, almost everyone masterbates, it's one of those things that you just do...
There are only Two types of people...Those that masterbate....and those that LIE!!!
People who claim they do not the loudest are trying to justify their own guilt of doing so in hopes that attention on the subject wouldn't possibly focus on them since they claim they don't do it...
Feeling guilty after a sexual release is also normal, along with immediatly losing any interest in the act...
Relax....Enjoy your body, its Gods gift to you and if anyone tells you it's wrong just place them on the "Pay No Mind List" and crank one more off...
LOL...Good Luck....
P.S. I started at 11 and although the frequency has diminished since then...I still enjoy it

yes yes yes

absolutely, some girls start at 7, some in their 20's. It's perfectly normal.
Why feel ashamed? It feels good, nobody is hurt.

Some women almost never have orgasms, enjoy

its normal. have fun!

totally normal and safer than sex!

Yes, it's normal and don't be ashamed. some girls probably do, but are embarassed to admit to it since it's accepted to be a teenage GUY thing. some girls do it though.

dont feel weird about it. it's your body, you should be able to do what you want with it .

and ya orgasms are normal since i'm assuming your hitting the right spot.

YES. Plus, what the heck's the difference between "sixteen" and "almost seventeen"? You talk about those ages like they're scientifically distinct. Many girls start much younger than that... and much older. In a nutshell: just go for it: ;-)

It happens everyday.

its normal. atleast i think it is. my friend told me she started out at 11 so i dont think 16 is bad at all.

very normal, most girls start even younger as they explore their bodies. do it often. it is fun and very safe sex! when you're older, it will help to know your body cuz it's the best way to teach your lover how to please you.

Normal yes

Yes and yes. Nothing to be ashamed of, this is normal.

it's perfectly normal.

And most girls do it, but most won't admit it... so don't feel ashamed.

don't ever be ashamed of your sexuality. masturbation is the way human beings explore themselves and decide what they like and don't like. Children as young as 7 materbate and children even younger than that touch themselves there to induce feelings of happiness or security. Don't feel bad about it.

well, it all depends on the person...all people "grow" (in that department) at different rates, hun. so don't feel ashamed!

happy holidays!

it's ok, i do it too (everyone needs pleasure sometimes, right?) i think it kind of depends on the mood you're in in order to have an orgasm.

Yes, Thats perfectly normal for anyone. It's a part of life.

Oh, completely normal. Most girls just don't talk about it.
You just knew your way around better ;)
There's nothing at all to be ashamed of.

Don't be ashamed! I feel weird--I didn't start masturbating until a few months ago and still haven't had an orgasm, and I'm 24! Think of how many more orgasms you'll have in your life after starting early. I'm afraid I may never have an orgasm. And there's nothing wrong with masturbation--it's a way to get sexual pleasure without any risk whatsoever. I don't know why so many people have a problem with it.

its normal and all girls do it but dont admit it to people cuz some people dont want to hear it and yes its normal to have a orgasm

I'm a guy so you might disregard this but my bio teacher said it was fine (was a women) her exact word to the girls were you should know what makes you feel good too.

The ones who don't either feel weird, sort of ashamed, or share a room. For all I know, girls like you are in the minority, but you are the normal ones. There's grown women, hey, even married women who don't know how to stimulate themselves to orgasm. There's nothing weird about masturbating, babies do it as soon as they can reach. Be happy :) Masturbating is normal and healthy! Besides, you'll never be able to teach your sex partner to do it for you if you don't know how to do it yourself.

you shouldnt be ashamed. i have been doing it since i was twelve as well. i was actually reading about that the other day. i am 18. go to wikipedia. it really helped. it is actually good for your health.

Do not worry, it is extremely normal for you to do and actually very healthy. Although I do not see how it is possibly to normal for a 7 year old to feel this urge to be sexually satisfied, it is absolutely normal and actually very healthy for teenage girls to enjoy masturbation. Why should boys be the only ones accepted for having such fun?

course its normal, and dont let anyone make you feel guilty about it,people who say they dont are liars, not that ive ever done it(liar) dont worry you are ok and normal and fine.

everyone has a different sex drive. but people who masturbate are always more at ease and likable people. go at it and have a good time with it!

peace, love and all that jazz

As a graduate student in psychology, I can tell you that it is perfectfully normal for a teenage girl to masturbate. Different people start at different ages, and sometimes people will tell they don't do it when, in actuality, they do, they're just afraid to admit they do. If you find yourself doing it excessively, if it starts to interfere with your well being, then you might consider talking to a good counselor. And by all means wait to have sex until you find the perfect person, and then always practice safely. It is much safer for you to please yourself and to know that you are clean and healthy than to be having sex with all sorts of different people. Hope this helps you. I would strongly suggest for you to find a competent, understanding adult to speak with.

I'm a guy but I'm a little older than you so maybe I can help. The girl I'm seeing told me she started masturbating when she was 7 or 8, so don't feel bad. And there's nothing wrong with getting in touch with your body, believe me. And the fact that you're able to have orgasms and that you enjoy them is a big plus. If you know what feels good to you, it'll make it that much better for whatever guy (or girl) you want to be with sexually. If you can communicate to your partner what you enjoy, the experience is ten times better, trust me. There are any number or girls out there who have never masturbated and have no clue what to tell their sex partner when it comes to bringing them to orgasm. I know, because I had a girlfriend like that once and it was difficult to know if I was doing the right things to her or not. Don't be ashamed or worried; you're actually doing yourself a favor. The girls who aren't doing it are missing out.

Is this a joke. . . hahahaha!!!!

Um..are you retarded?

No, not to me. I think maybe in the late teens or so I could see where it could be experimental but not an everyday thing. Imo, I dont think its something a young person under 16 should do. I personally never was into it til early 20s
