What are the chances my period will come in my week off from the pill?!

Question: I'm 16, and about to finish my first pack of 21 pills.
The doctor put me on it because my period's so irregular (used to last 6 weeks)
So I'm thinking, that once I have the week off, my period probably won't come, because my body won't realise its supposed to?
What are the chances of this?
I'm just wondering..
Oh, and also, am I more likely to get a more 'normal' period, like I never reallu get pain or anything, and it lasts so long.

One of the biggest benefits of the pill is REGULARITY.

Your body will most likely realize it's not getting its daily dose of artificial hormones about day 2 of your period week, and you're most likely going to have a period about day 3 or 4.

While the pill does help with heavy flow, irregularity and cramping, it is not a magic-cure-all to take all your symptoms away...it just alleviates the worst of it. You may still have some cramping, backaches, headache, pre-period acne, irritability, and even some moderate flow, but this is all normal for the pill.

Your period should definitely start once you finish the packet of pills. give it a day or two, but then it will come. I had a similar problem and the pill fixed it right up! my period had trailled off to almost nothing by the time i started my next months supply and completely stopped the day after i started taking them again. the hormones in the pill usually make sure your periods are lighter, shorter and only come when you are on your "week off", any pains you usually experience should be much less severe too, often, there will be no pain at all.

You will get it probably two days after your last pill for 5-7 days. Either way, you will definatly get your period in the week off. Birth control has a powerful effect on the body.
