Do other woman in their forties panic about aging skin?!

Question: I'm going to be 44 soon and I always thought I would age gracefully but its like it has suddenly hit me and I am noticing fine lines down my checks and around my mouth. Eyes not so bad. And I am in a real panic about it. I've never worn makeup and wonder if I should start.

How do others of you cope with aging??

Sorry about my question. I know it's not something to toy with, etc, but I just hate hearing those people who are all "oh derrderr more fish in teh sea your faking it derrderr". But I do genuinly have "issues". I feel a slight bit better than I did last night, but not a whole lot. I'm not praying for attention or w/e. If I was then I wouldn't ask for help, then I would just say I want to commit suicide for no reason. I have a counseler, but I honestly don't feel right talking to her about it. W/e think what you want.
But to answer this question. No makeup. It'll make it worse.

most do

Well, at least you're not me. I have ALWAYS taken great care of my skin (lots of water, sunscreen, and no tanning), but I am still wrinkling early because of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Try getting some anti-wrinkle lotion....it will help prevent future wrinkles, and the ones you have probably aren't as noticeable as you think!

I'm 58 and look 40. The secret is good nutrition, eating foods high in antioxidants. I've also been taking vitamins C and E most of my adult life.

I'm in my 40's and am just starting to get crow's feet, which I can see when I smile. Other than that, my skin is holding up surprisingly well. I would definitely not recommend using makeup to try to cover up wrinkles. Makeup doesn't cover up wrinkles ... it settles into them and makes them more pronounced. The best thing you can do for your skin right now is drink plenty of water every day (I swear that's what does it for me) and use sunscreen every day.

I'm only 36 and not doing well with this! Get little non-invasive procedures, such as botox, filler, laser resurfacing, etc...it helps without changing your look

I'm in my 20 and have found the same thing. i now stay out the sun and i do not ware makeup. never have. but i stop and look at others my age and don't feel so bad. eat good and drink a lot of water.you will be OK.happy people all ways look good no matter what age

Same with me . I am begin 40 , also panic when look in the miror that some of skin in my face begin crinckle.
So bussy looking for a new cosmetic for anti aging.

Its the first, but now I am easy going and not panic cause its normal and all people will too .
The important thing is inner beauty.

Possum....you "earned" every wrinkle. Wrinkles are not bad..heck no! What drives me to distraction is the ever increasing amount of hair on my face. Good GOD I think..when the heck did that start! Laughing...
Use a good facial scrub, back that up with a good facial mask and a good moisturizer. Microderm-abrasion is also something I am going to look into.
And RELAX......you are not getting older..just better!

Take off your magnifying glasses.
Put on a smile.
And live your life to the fullest.
You (and I) are best off to leave the worrying to things bigger and badder than ourselves.

At your age my main problem was living through all the menopause symptoms. Hot flashes, night sweats, depression, and wacky hormonal emotions.

Age another 10 years and life turns rosy again.

I'm a male 51, my girlfriend is 52. We laugh about our aging all the time. There is no real remedy - it creeps up on you.

I know what you are talking about though. For us, we went through that phase from mid 40's until late 40's. About 50 our mental outlook started to catch up with our physical reality. It always laggs behind, but is easier to deal with now.

My best advice is. You can either see a plastic surgeon at some point, or your mind will catch up with your body and compensate the changes you're going through. Your choice.

Controlled freak-out. I'm 50.
peace

I'm only 20 and I worry!
I think certain make up is good to use. I actually am
(believe it or not) prematurely aging. My neck looks pretty old compared to my age. And I have fine lines around my mouth.

*sigh*

I would recommend water, water and lots and lots of water, water, water. Consuming water will hydrate your skin cells. That's what I started to do once I got a little self concious about my skin. Although people seem to think I'm 16... I really don't see
how as I'm kind of lined up?? Huh.. it could be my imagination.
I stick with drinking lots of water daily and moisturizing everyday... usually before I sleep. Good luck girly!

**Make up can sometimes increase the look of lines. Especially around the mouth because the makeup will dry in them and be more apparent. So if your skin isn't oily you may want to try a liquid base makeup. I think loreal has a nice line for that. They had Susan Surrandon addvertise for it.
It's created for mature skin.
