What do you think ts the best form of contraception?!

Question: I mean how effective it is, the side affects, and weight gain (like the pill is supposed to make you put on weight), and also how painful it is (like the implnt, i would imagine that to be painfull!).

Many thanks.

Nothing is 100% effective.
Mixing two different methods is as foolproof as it gets unless you or your partner is sterilised (even this has a failure rate).
Personally I always liked to back up oral contraception with condoms. Even using a low dose pill adds to the effectiveness of using condoms correctly. I've used low dose pills with a cap as well in the past when in a stable relationship.
If you are worried about the health risks of hormone based contraceptives then you could always double up with 2 barrier methods. You could use a cap and condoms.
Weight gain is the least of your health worries with hormonal contraceptives, you raise your rish of heart attack and stroke, especially if you are a smoker or are over 35. If you don't have these risk factors then there is less risk taking the pill than there are health risks involved in being pregnant.
You might want to consider a coil if you have already had a child, these do increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy though.
Female condoms do work, but they rustle like crisp packets, or at least they did the last time I checked.
The implant is uncomfortable going in and out as is the coil, it depends on your own pain threshold, I know I couldn't handle it.
The injection has the same health risks as the pill with no way to reverse it until it wears off.

You should make an appointment at your local family planning clinic and ask for information about all the possible options. Don't rush to make a decision, ask for written information to take away and think about what you want to do.

combo of the pill & condoms

dont have sex

To say NO

Ginger Hair

Aspirin. Place it between your knees.

Condoms everytime, the only contraceptive to protect against STI.

very tight knickers.............lol

abstinence

Actually an aspirin works really well. Hold it between your knees and you won't get pregnant.
:-)(

condoms alone! forget pills and def. no implants.

The pill piles the pounds on.

I'd say condoms.

Durex have brought out a new comfortable range.

There alright!

x

keep 'em closed hon. best form of contraception!

Condoms or just dont do it all!

ha ha sayitasitis !!!

All birthcontrol has side effects that suck!
Weight Gain is just the cake topper :)

Condoms are the best and easiest, but they feel the worst.

the easiest painfree contraceptive is not to have sex.

condoms definately - no weight gain
- no messing up your hormones
- i know of the coil not working for a few people
- and no worries about S.T.D.S either

the ONLY 100% sure contraception is to abstain.
after that, bc pills are 98 to 99% effective, but they do indeed have side effects.
personally I used a diaphragm and spermicidal jelly and that was effective for me, but one does have to plan ahead.

Condoms and pills.

Just say no... if not, the pill in a combination with a codom. Good Luck

Don't be ridiculous. People are always going to have sex, you can't stop them, and the American sex ed (ie ABSTINENCE) is frankly ridiculous and disgusting that adults have such little respect for teenagers.

I like the pill because although I put on weight, it made my boobs grow! Also it only involves taking one pill a day which you really DO remember if you don't want to get pregnant, and you can skip a period if you want to (on my pill you can anyway). Some medications mess with the pill though, and if you're ill it doesn't always work. It varies from person to person but I had no side effects apart from weight gain and it was GOOD weight gain :D

My roommate has the implant, it's causing her so much hassle, and has shifted in her body, it's painful and you have no idea when your period will be, also its stuck in your body so if you want it out they have to cut your arm open again!

the coil talk to your doctor about the alternative pills im on microgynon and have no side effects but everyones different!

Abstinence.
100% effective (apart from when you cave in)
No side effects apart from lusting a man
Possible weight gain due to less physical activity ;)

No, on a serious note.
The Browning Method* is usually pretty good when combined with use of condoms.

* The Browning Method is where you count the days of your menstrual cycle so that you're aware of when it is highly likely you will get pregnant as a result of intercourse so that you avoid it on those days.

Go on the pill AND use condoms.

Abstinence IS NOT CONTRACEPTION, it's just not having sex, contraception is a method to prevent pregnancy when you have sex.

I think the Depro shot works great, but has some side effects for some women. The pill works fine...if you remember to take it on time and every day. I was on the pill and never gained any weight from it, but missed some pills and got pregnant twice! I suggest going with something you don't have to remember to take every day.

im on the depo-shot and it works great for me its better than the pill because its only once every 3 months. people say it makes you gain weight but that is mainly up to you and how you take care of yourself. you need to watch what you eat and exercise. and i have heard that the implant is painfull.

abstinence 100% SAFE

forms of contraception are only 99.8% safe do the math

well my first answer is not to have sex period. but i guess the pill and forcing the man to wear a condom is the best.

Try the raw onion and garlic diet....cant get pregnant if you cant get laid

Jack Daniels ( straight) ... half a bottle of that, and nae chance!

You could try having the depo injection or the implant that goes in your arm - however if you use either of these you still need to use a condom to prevent yourself from getting any STDs!! Either way, it'll benefit you going to talk to your GP or a nurse at a local family planning clinic - they will be able to advise what is best for you.
Well done for being responsible, not enough people these days care about their bodies!! xx :)
