Is this normal (girls only)? Serious answers please.?!

Question: Before you call me an idiot, I know what period cramps are like and I'm not talking about them, 'kay?
Anyways, sometimes whenever I get my period, my stomach hurts. It's hard to describe, but it's kinda like someone kicked you HARD in the stomach. Actually, it really hurts. Midol and Tylenol and other pain relievers do not help at all. Is this normal? It goes away after a couple days but still.

Yes, sometimes your stomach will hurt just as bad as your uterine cramps. I have found that the gold standard pain reliever is ibuprofin (Motrin). My ob/gyn has me start taking Motrin when my period is scheduled to arrive, and for every 4-6 hours for the first two days of my period. It really helps. Motrin takes awhile to get into the system, so if you start it right away and keep taking it, you get better relief.

Heating pads are really helpful, too. Feel better!

I would go see a doctor just to be on the safe side!

Good luck

It sounds normal BUT you might want to see a OB/GYN to make sure nothing else is going on in there, you might have a cyst OR you just might need prescription pain meds for when you're on your period.

It does sound like period cramps, but a serious version called dysmenhorrea. your doctor can probably help you with this.

thats how my best friend is...she feels sooo bad like her stomach hurts so bad it makes her want to throw up!. Her doctor told her it was normal...She just has really bad pms and cramps...warmth can help

u might have an ulcer check with ur doctor

Yes, it's normal for some girls. I know I get really hard cramps too. Once, I even puked because of the pain. But you didn't need to know that. Anyway, try some pain relievers or headache medicene. If it gets too bad, just lay around all day. -Tayler G.

Honey, if I were you to check your doctor. That best knowledge giving you the answer. Your doctor will tell you exact what's your problems?
