Sharp pains?!

Question: Ok, for the past half hour or so, I've been getting these really sharp, piercing pains in the left side of my chest, down my left side (mostly near the top of my "love handles"), and occasionally in my arm, around where they give needles (upper arm). When I breathe, in the middle of my chest it feels like there's too much pressure there.. Not sure how to explain it, but it's like I have to force it away to breathe. It really really hurts, and I've asked my mom and she blamed it (as she does everything else that hurts me) on the fact that I'm on my computer so much. I'm pretty scared and so is my boyfriend, and I can't ask my mom to take me to the doctors because she'll yell at me like she always does and say that I need to get off my computer, then start this huge fight, and it's just not worth my time. I can't really call anyone else either because they'll tell my mom about it and all.. I'm a 13 year old female if that helps any.. Does anyone know what could be causing these pains?

Well since it is extremely rare for someone your age to have a heart attack I would guess its not that. Do you have any other kind of heart condition - mytrovalve prolapse, etc. ? It sounds like it may have been a panic or anxiety attack. Did the symptoms clear up on their own? Have you experienced something similar, but less severe? If yes, it could be an anxiety issue. But if it continues to occur you should be checked out by a doctor to be safe.

Well, it could be caused by a lot of things. Could be just a cramp. Try going for a walk around the block. See if that helps. Try stretching. If you are lazy, then that can happen....

Have you done anything to hurt your neck like jerking or turning really fast ? It could be a pinched nerve.
