Relax!!! A good nurse will get you talking about something to help you forget what she/he is doing.

look the other way

No, it'll hurt like hell. Crying usually makes it hurt less.

think about ice cream

Try the usual things, look the other way, pinch you leg with one of your hands etc.
Ja.

NO JUST SET STILL AND BREATH

ask for that cream/spray which makes your arm feel no pain

don't look

relax... dnt watch the nurse do it... breath & try to think or focus o something else & dnt tense up.... its not tht bad!!! (:

close eyes hold breath

i look away and clench my jaw and i talk to someone or think about something else.

i agree look another way and think about other things

just dontt look at the needle and keep ya head to the side thats the best way

it doesnt hurt at all i got shot when i was 5 and only cried a little

Bite your fist, hard.

I go through the same problem as you, and there really is no other option than taking it. And maybe biting your fist.
Takes the emphasis away.

try and relax and maybe take music to listen to to relax with it helps me and i hate needles

don't look at it and get think about something else and don't tense up then it would hurt. and get destracted by something like a song or talk to the nurse that is giving it and tell them not to tell u that it is coming up and just to do it.

Don't watch and as hard as it will seem <<<RELAX<<<tencing up will only make it worse

What I do, close my eyes and think of my favorite place or things, A favorite beach with the surf rolling in,

How old are you anyway????? Everyone needs to get shots! Thats it.....Suck it up, Look Away, Think Happy Thoughts and it will be over in a couple Seconds !!! :)

Punch her in the face.

THIS IS GOLDEN:

Do NOT think about it, and definitely look the other way. Go to a happy place in your mind. Start an engaging conversation with the nurse. Before you know it, she will say "Ok, all done!" and you'll be shocked because you had no clue she even got you! Good luck doll

There is a breathing method that really helps. Breath in through your nose, slowly and naturally...the pucker your lips slightly like you are bending the flame on birthday candles and breathe out like that. This takes great concentration and relaxes all of your muscles....when the muscles of your arm are COMPLETELY relaxed you will not feel the shot nearly as much. Tight muscle has to be gone through with the needle and that is what hurts!

what ever you do just look away and don't forget to breath . I hate shots too. I forget to breath and end up passing out because i my heart starts beating fast . The actual pain is not that bad is it just the thought of getting one

think of something else. shots are really not that bad. i used to be terrified of them and then i had to get several for a root canal at 17 and i got over them.

i have the same problem i have a complete fear of needles but the best thing i find is to look away and squeeze something. Its over quickly. So dont worry its never as bad as you think its going to be.

Close your eyes tight. and open your mouth like your chowing on something but hard.
Thrust me it helps. I've tried it a million times.

Good luck

Hope i helped...

...seriously? i'm sorry but... i'm 13, and it does not hurt a bit to get a shot, and don't make excuses saying it's that little needle cuz it's not... don't be so sensetive and just deal with it.

Pinch your thigh.. that way the pain will be transfer and you can manage how much pain u need by pinching harder.

Look at the ceiling. As her to count to three an on three jab you, I can remember the nasty-nurse jabbing me when I was 8, I screamed my head off, but only cause it was shocking, I cant remember it hurting too much. I think it would hurt a bit, but not as much as you would imagine.

I used to work for a doctor who performed tests that involved long needles and electrical shocks (I'm not kidding, it's called an EMG/NCS). Some parts of the test hurt, others didn't. And different people tolerate pain in different ways. But this doc told every patient who asked, "Is this gonna hurt?", an emphatic "YES! It's gonna hurt like hell." And just about every patient got up afterward and said to me,"It wasn't THAT bad! I expected way more pain!"
So, close your eyes or look at something else. Expect it to hurt. It will go away, it will not hurt forever. Some medicines are thick when they enter the muscle, and leave you with more soreness. Some you don't feel at all except for the needle stick. And when it's over, it's over. Ask if you can get the shot in your hip, which would be in the muscle at the top of your butt. This is the least painful, in my opinion, and you won't be able to watch.
