If you turn anorexic, do you lose all your muscle as well?!

Question: Or is it impossible to be anorexic if you have muscle? I was just wondering.

Yes, you lose a lot of muscle mass. In fact you probably lose more muscle than you do fat, due to the fact that your body will try it's best to hold on to the fat and start using muscle as fuel instead. And remember your heart is also a muscle, so basically your body starts to break that down as well. Just something to think about.

If you arent getting the nutrients you need, ie protein then after awhile your muscles can degenerate a bit.

Yes, your body starts "eating" your muscles if it is not getting enough nutrition and you don't have any fat stores. Very dangerous.

Yes, your muscles start breaking down. It is important to remember this is why anorexia is so dangerous; your heart is a muscle too. Anorexia is a very dangerous disease and in the beginning stages you can still have muscle, but it will eventually be lost too.
