Question: My fiance is going to the gynecologist to have her pre-marriage examination. The doctor will break the hymen. Does it hurt? I really don't know anything about it. Once it is broken, how long does it take to heal?

I think it depends on how tight is is, how much it blocks the way. I thinking healing takes a day or two.
I'm sure it's already broken if she's old enough to get married, it can happen w/ normal everyday activies.
Why would the doctor break the hymen? In an exam the doctor won't purposefully break it. Most likely it's already broken (sports, tampons, fingering). If it's not broken the doctor would leave that for your wedding night.
The doctor should NOT be breaking your fiance's hymen !!!!! They can "get in there" without breaking it. What country are you from that you do a pre-marital exam? It is supposed to be the HUSBANDS privilege to break the hymen, that is part of the joy of being a virgin. The first time a woman has sex it usually hurts & that doesn't have anything to do with having a hymen in place. If your girl uses tampons the hymen could already be broke also if she did alot of tree climbing & rough playing as a kid it could be gone too. the hymen heals quite quickly don;t worry she will be healed in time for your wedding night. Be sure to have plenty of lube.
he shouldn't be tryng to break it. ask if you can step in there while he's doing everything, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Why is the gynae breaking her hymen? The examination can be conducted without breaking it. Maybe you should try another doctor to see what they suggest. Actually the hymen can be broken very easily, from doing sports like cycling or from using tampons, etc. How long it takes to heal differs for individuals. But it shouldn't be broken purposely by the gynae.
