I was 9 when i got mine, and ive wished i was one of those that start when they were 18... it's been a pain (literally!).
Don't stress out about your body. stress can actually stall it if you're worrying too much about it. The normal age for your period to start is anywhere from 8 to 18. And everyone is different, just because your mother or your sister started at 12, doesn't mean that you will, you could start at 9 or you could start when you're 18. Each person has their own clock. :) Have fun being young!! It goes so quick. ;)

I was 12, but I knew this one girl who didn't get hers until she was 17.

Erm... I had a period where I didn't like chocolate cake. that was at age 6
I was twelve. But I knew a girl who started when she was nine. Likewise I knew someone else who started at 17.

i was in 6th grade
and it sucked so much because i got it on Halloween
while I was trick or treating with my best friend and her DAD!
luckily i was wearing black pants
but i didnt realise it until i was basically waddeling down the sidewalk in the dark trying to get home before someone noticed what was really going on!
I had mine pretty late, I was about 14 or 15. This is around the age you should go see your doctor if you haven't had it yet, just to get things checked out. The reason I didn't get mine until then is because I had been doing hard core gymnastics since I was five. If you do a lot of physical activity it can delay your first period.

I had mine when I was 11 and half. It is normal if you r not having it till 16. before 10 or after 16 is abormal. But as we all know everybody is not the same.
Well I was 14. It all took a long time for me. Started to get boobs at about 10 and it took four years for it all to come together!! Don't worry about it. It'll happen. My sister was 15. If you (or your friend...) is skinny then it'll take longer. My friends ranged from 11 - 14. Most were 12/13

i had just turned 11, which i think is uncommon because im skinnier than i should be. weird
